An Abandoned Dungeon
This abandoned dungeon map was one of the first I created when learning dungeon-drawing techniques. It makes for a simple but effective small combat space. The dungeon contains two rooms, separated by a set of large wooden doors, and can fit on a regular sheet of letter-sized paper. The possibilities are endless for what players might find, and although it is likely underground, it could be above-ground with no windows. Add this PDF map to your cart for free.
Here are some quick ideas on how you might be able to use this map in your game, or whatever else you come up with.
Cultists: a group of cultists have been spotted in the area, and tracked to an abandoned dungeon nearby. Inside this underground ruin is a gathering space where cultists are preparing for their next ritual, which takes place behind the closed doors.
Poachers: a group of poachers have been stealing eggs from magical animals and selling them off illegally to the highest bidders. The main room is where the poachers live and work, and the second room is where they keep the eggs safely stored.
Barracks: a group of goblins has settled into the old barracks outside of town. They mostly live in the basement, where it is dark. The first room is full of goblins fighting over food scraps, while the second room has been taken over by the stronger warriors after chopping a hole through the locked door.
