Map Planning Tools

It’s no secret that I love graph paper.

Whether it’s plotting out maps, figuring out layouts, or designing my next block-shaped build in a video game, my stack of graph paper isn’t far out of reach. However, when I started working on making zines, I realized the size of my maps were going to be restricted by the print size of the publication, meaning I needed to plan out my designs a little more carefully in order to optimize the space I had available.

This prompted me to design my Map Planner sheets (available for free in my Shop). I worked them around common paper sizes, allowing for a maximum number of whole squares what I could fit onto a single page. By having a pre-drawn box, it saved me time, and sometimes errors, in counting out boxes for my maps.

Each Map Planner has an associated Map Grid for at-home printing. They have light grey lines to save on ink, and to allow you space to create your own custom map designs. If you’ve used my Map Planners, reach out and let me know how they worked out!
